PARISH SCHOOL OF RELIGION (PSR)
AND PSR PRESCHOOL 2012-2013
Our Lady of Peace Parish
OLP's Parish School of Religion (PSR) and PSR Preschool are now accepting registrations
for the 2012-2013 school year.
PSR is required for children grades 1-8 who do not attend a Catholic school,
so that they might learn about their Faith and receive their sacraments.
PSR classes for grades 1-8 begin Sunday, September 9th from 11:00 a.m.-12:15 p.m.
and are held in the church basement.
Registration forms are available by clicking on the link at the bottom of this message.
The cost for PSR is $70 per child, $110 for two children, or $165 for three children or more.
If the cost is prohibitive, please contact the Parish Office.
A "Meet the Teachers" meeting will be held for parents in the sanctuary,
Sunday, August 19 after the 11:30 a.m. Mass.
If your child will be attending PSR in the fall, this meeting will be your opportunity
to learn more about the program's expections and meet your child's teacher---
so it is vital to attend if possible.
Please bring your registration form with you to this meeting.
If you are unable to attend then mail the registration form to
Our Lady of Peace, Parish Office, 20 E. Dominion Blvd, Columbus, Ohio 43214
or, e-mail registration forms as an attachment to Tracey Fortkamp firstname.lastname@example.org
In 2012-2013 the PSR focus will be on the Mass.
Each week students will focus a portion of their learning on
that weekend's Mass, discussing the readings and homily, learning
and memorizing prayers, and understanding what the Priest is doing and
why it is important to the Mass and our Faith. In addition to focusing on the Mass,
PSR teaches children about their Faith, the Church, the Bible, religious history,
and most importantly about God's love.
In 2013, those in 7th and 8th grades will be taking all they have learned about their Faith and participating in Confirmation.
PSR Preschool for children ages 3-5 will begin Sunday, September 20th
and will be held during the 10:00 a.m. Mass.
Costs are $30 per child with a $60 family limit.
For more information about the OLP PSR program, please contact
Tracey Fortkamp at her e-mail address found with in the message above.
