MUSIC MINISTRY
“Be filled with the Spirit, addressing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and playing to the Lord in your hearts.” Ephesians 5:18-19.
INTRODUCTION/BACKGROUND:
At Our Lady of Peace Church, we recognize music as an integral part of celebrating the Mass and Special Liturgies. In the Old and New Testaments, as well as church history there is much evidence of music being used for praise and worship. Readings and prayers were chanted, involving voices and a variety of instruments.
WHO WE ARE/ WHAT WE DO:
MISSION: To support the liturgies by assisting the congregation in song and worship, providing liturgical music for Sunday, Holy Days, and other special rites.
We are fortunate at Our Lady of Peace to have a few very dedicated singers and other musicians who share their talents and enhance the experience of the Liturgy for all of us. Our music encompasses a variety of styles, periods, and cultures, always reflecting the lessons and/or seasons.
ACTIVITIES:
The choir leads the 10:00 Masses on Sundays from September through June, as well as special liturgies. Cantors lead the music for other weekend liturgies and during the off-season. The organ and piano are used for most Masses, and other instruments are added for regular and special occasions.

Taken at the 2010 Annual Spring Concert performed by
the OLP Choir and Central Ohio Brass Band.
MEETINGS:
Adult choir rehearsal is held every Wednesday night at 7:30-9:00 p.m., September-June in the choir loft, or the choir room in the church lower level.
VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES: If you would like to serve your Parish by lending your voice or instrumental talents, you would be most welcome. The adult choir is open to those 18 years of age and older. Other music opportunities are available to youth.
